Meet the students who are heading off to college in just a few months! They represent different parts of the country but they’ve all benefitted from our signature Project Ready program, which empowers young people to excel in their studies and prepare for a bright future.

“I’ve been involved with Project Ready since the day it came to my school. I always saw the value in it, and it helped keep me motivated and on track with my school work. I’ll be graduating next month and now have several college choices and scholarships. I’m just so excited and I appreciate my time in Project Ready.”

— Heaven Adams, 17-years-old, Urban League of Louisiana |
Senior at Landry-Walker High School in New Orleans, LA

“Choosing to attend an HBCU is important to me so that I can be finally surrounded by people who look like me and will guide me. I Rock because our ancestors created and built these schools for us so that I can do the things only they could dream about. Create goals, accomplish goals, and then replace them with better ones.”

— Trinity Johnson, 18-years-old, Louisville Urban League | Senior at Louisville Male High in Louisville, KY

“Project Ready has helped me throughout my years in high school. The program helped me prepare myself for college. This year, the program has helped me apply for scholarships. They helped me become a Black cholar. I appreciate Project Ready!”

— Kieree Cunningham, 18-years-old, Urban League of Rochester | Senior at School of the Arts in Rochester, NY | Will be attending Savannah State University

“Project Ready helped me with finding a college when my plans to go to the Navy were ended because of a medical condition.”

— Takayla B. Hanson, 19-years-old, Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City | Senior at Centennial High School in Oklahoma City, OK
