2023 Know Before You Go: Voting Guide
For many states, Election Day is Tuesday, November 7! Your vote has the power to ignite change in your community, so we’ve prepped a guide for you.
We’ve got you covered with tips, reminders, and resources so you can cast your ballot safely and effectively.

🗳 Before you head to the ballot box:
— Double check your voter registration: Be sure to check your voter status on your state’s designated website to make sure your info is updated + current
— Pack the essentials: Be sure to pack an up-to-date form of identification (such as a driver’s license or passport)
— Research local candidates: Learn about the candidates running for office in your community and their stance on issues that matter to you.
— Get your voting plan ready: Note info about your local candidates and voting information prior to heading to the polls.
— Share your plan: Encourage your family + friends to create a voting plan before they go to the ballot box.
📬 Have a mail-in ballot?
— Drop it off in person: If you’re waiting until Election Day, check your state requirements in regards to taking your ballot to a secure + certified election drop box or at your designated voting location.

✊🏽 Know your rights at the polls:
— If you are in line when polls are supposed to close, stay in line — you have the right to vote.
— If you make a mistake on your ballot, ask for a new one.
— If the machines are down at your polling place, ask for a paper ballot.
— If your citizenship, criminal record, or other qualifications are questioned, immediately call the Election Protection Hotline where trained volunteers are available to help.
