2022 Know Before You Vote Guide: Georgia Runoff Edition
๐ฃ Calling all Georgia voters! Election season isnโt over. Tuesday, December 6th is the runoff Election Day between Senator Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker.
Why does Georgia need a runoff election? Runoff elections are held when no candidate wins the required majority of votes.
If you are already registered to vote in Georgia, this is your chance to vote again and help determine control of the U.S. Senate. (NOTE: the Georgia voter registration deadline was Nov. 7. You can check to make sure your current registration is up to date).

๐ณ Before you head to the ballot box to vote early or on Election Day:
โ Double-check your voter registration: Check your voter status on Georgiaโs designated website to ensure your info is updated + current.
โ Pack the essentials: Georgia law requires photo identification when voting, either in person or absentee.
Accepted forms of ID include:
๐ A Georgia Voter identification card
๐ A Georgia driverโs license, even if expired
๐ Student ID from a Georgia public College or University
๐ Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state
๐ Valid U.S. passport ID
๐ Valid U.S. military photo ID containing a photograph of the voter
๐ Valid tribal photo ID containing a photograph of the voter
โ Research the candidates: Learn more about Senator Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker and their stance on issues that matter to you.
โ Get your voting plan ready: Double-check key dates and decide if you plan to vote early, on election day or drop off your absentee ballot. Also plan how you will get to the polls.
โ Share your plan: have conversations with your family and friends about voting and encourage them to create their own voting plan.
๐ฌ Have a mail-in/absentee ballot?
โ Mail-in/Absentee ballot: The last day to request a ballot was Nov. 28th. If youโve already requested your absentee ballot, submit it by the deadline: 7PM ET on Election Day (December 6). It must be RECEIVED by that time.

โ๐ฝ Know your rights at the polls:
โ If you are in line when polls are supposed to close, stay in line โ you have the right to vote.
โ If you make a mistake on your ballot, ask for a new one.
โ If the machines are down at your polling place, ask for a paper ballot.
โ If your citizenship, criminal record, or other qualifications are questioned, immediately call the Election Protection Hotline where trained volunteers are available to help.
